The protection of our employees, the public, and company operations are of most importance. Safety will be taken into first consideration over expediency or shortcuts. Blachowske Truck Line Inc. intends to comply with all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances and requires all of our drivers to do the same.

The main objective of Blachowske Truck Line Inc.'s Safety Program is to reduce work-related injuries and illnesses and to promote safety and health in every job undertaken by our employees on behalf of the company. We intend on maintaining a "Safety First" culture by utilizing the following programs.

  • Safety and health training for all new and existing employees.
  • Routine safety and health inspections to identify and eliminate unsafe working conditions or practices and control health hazards.
  • Provisions for mechanical and physical safegaurds to the fullest extent possible.
  • Personal Safety and Health policies, requiring employees at every level to comply with these policies.
  • Thorough and prompt investigations of every accident to determine cause, correct the problem, and reduce the likelihood of it happening again.

Safety Training Program

Blachowske Truck line Inc., has a continual training program. All new employees will go through an orientation that covers all of our company policies and procedures, as well as all required training to ensure the safety of all employees.

The safety policies and procedures are all included in a very detailed driver or employee handbook. The company holds annual formal driver safety meetings at both of our locations, which are designed to promote continual training in all aspects of the industry. Drivers are also recognized at the annual meetings for their safe driving in the form of monetary bonuses, safety awards, and apparel.

All shop employees have weekly safety meetings to continually bring safety awareness on various topics.

In addition there are monthly safety newsletters to be sure our employees are up to date on any changes with laws or regulations affecting the industry.

Drivers are acknowledged monthly when they receive clean DOT inspection on the road and are rewarded in the form of a bonus for such clean inspections.

The disciplinary policy is outlined in the driver's manual. Additional training is held throughout the year to ensure employees who deal with accidents fully understand their responsibilities as outlined with the company's policies.

Full internal audits are conducted on a continuous basis verifying fuel audits, random drug screen audits, DOT inspection report audits, CSA score audits, and hours of service audits on all logs received from drivers.

If you would like more information on any safety related function or on our policies and procedures; please contact Shanna Gray, Director of Human Resources & Safety or Dawn Gilbertson, Safety Coordinator.
